About ShortFare Policies
Service Infractions currently supports two types of ShortFare policies.
If you use EZ-Wallet, ShortFare policies can be set to look for deductions from the client purse that total a greater amount than the defined overdraft limit.
About Overdraft Limits
Trapeze recommends that the same overdraft limits be defined in the Trapeze4 Workstation and
in Service Infractions context properties. The overdraft defined in the Trapeze4 Workstation is
used by EZ-Wallet and the overdraft limit in context properties is used by Service Infractions.
If they are different, it may be more difficult to understand the infractions visible in the
Infractions widget.
-
The overdraft limit used by EZ-Wallet as the default overdraft limit when a client overdraft limit of 0 is defined (as shown in , on the Detail tab, in the Fare frame, in the Overdraft Limit field) is found in the Trapeze4 Workstation under , on the Profile tab, under .
-
The overdraft limit used by Service Infractions when a client overdraft limit of 0 is defined is found in Context Properties under .
Note: The client's defined EZ-Wallet overdraft limit takes precedence over the default overdraft
limit. To define a specific overdraft limit for the client in EZ-Wallet, go to the
Purse tab, in the Actions & Settings frame,
and update the Over Draft field.
If an overdraft limit of 0 is defined for the client in EZ-Wallet, then Service Infractions
uses the default overdraft limit defined in context properties when determining infractions.
Note: The context property default value is not reflected in the Infractions widget
Overdraft Limit field (it shows $0.00, matching the client's defined
overdraft limit).
