Creating Absences in the Employee Profile Screen
Absences can be created using the Employee Profile screen.
- Open the Employee Profile screen and set the Context (F3).
- Select an employee and then Absences.

Do one of the following:
- To create a new absence, in the detail view, right-click and select Add New Record.
- To create an absence based on an existing record, select the record in
the list view, click in the detail view, and select Clone

You can also update an existing absence by selecting it in the list view and then using the detail view. - Select the Absence Type Id.
- Enter the From Date of the absence.
- Optional: Enter the To Date of the absence.
- Optional:
Enter the From Time and To Time
of the absence.
If you leave these fields blank, the absence defaults to the entire day (24 hours). Work can't be assigned to this employee during that day.
If the absence is for more than one day, the From Time field specifies the absence start time on the first day and the To Time field specifies the absence end time on the last day. For example, if an absence runs from Monday to Friday with a start time of 10∶00 and an end time of 15∶00, the employee is absent from Monday at 10∶00 to Friday at 15∶00.
To create an absence of a few hours each day for five days in a row, you must create separate absence records for each day.

If a quota is required for the absence type, select the Quota
Type.
You don't have to choose an absence quota when creating an absence in the Employee Profile screen if you don't want to include the absence in the quota count.
- If employees accrue time for this absence type, select the Accrual Year.
- If the absence type is associated with the employee's relationship to another person, select an Absence Relationship.
- If the absence type requires a reason, select an Absence Reason.
- Optional: Complete the remaining fields, as needed.
- Select Save.
- Optional: To attach a file to the absence record, select Attachments.
