About Split Work
A piece of work can be split to assign different operators to different parts of the work.
You can also split blocks separately from splitting pieces of work.
- Look up split times based on route locations or enter split times manually.
- Add clear, travel, and report times to the pieces of work that result from the split.
- Split blocks. For example, if you must split a run to replace a driver and must replace the vehicle as well, you can split the block while splitting the work.
- If you split a piece of work assigned to an operator, you can also record the person's absence at the time. For example, if an operator becomes ill and leaves work before the end of the shift.
You can split a piece of work multiple times.
When you split a piece of work, the resulting pieces appear in the Daily Activity screen with new work names. For example, if you split a piece of work named 087, the resulting pieces are named 087~1 and 087~2.
You can reassemble split work. For example, you might split the wrong piece of work or split work at the wrong time. If you split a piece of work multiple times, you must undo the splits in the reverse order. If you put split work back together and the system finds block pieces with the same split time as the pieces of work, you can put the split block back together at the same time. If the vehicle from the first block piece is available for the entire merged block, you can also assign the vehicle to the merged block.
