About Suggested Work

In the Daily Activity screen, the system can suggest open work to assign to a selected extraboard or volunteer operator.

After work is suggested, a dispatcher contacts the employee regarding the work and records their response.

Work must be offered to employees in the order that it's given in the Suggestions for Work dialog. Work order is determined by the work assignment profile associated with the employee’s extraboard type or volunteer type. If no work assignment profile is defined, work can't be suggested.

A message in the status bar at the bottom of the screen indicates that the system is reading suggested work. The Suggestions for Work dialog then appears. Employee information is shown in the top left pane of the dialog. The middle pane of the dialog lists work that can be assigned to the employee. The first work that you must offer to the employee is selected in the middle pane. If the employee has an unrecognized absence on the day, a message appears at the bottom right of the dialog.

Employees can be ineligible for a piece of work if they have overlapping work assignments, if they don't have the required skills or volunteer type, if the work is outside their extraboard or volunteer times, or if the work has been offered to another employee.
Note: You must select a work assignment profile in the Assign Profile field of the Extra Board Types ancillary data screen and Volunteer Types ancillary data screen to enable the suggested work feature.
