Confirming or Forgiving ShortFare Infractions

ShortFare infractions are marked as Undecided until they are either Confirmed or Forgiven.

Before you begin

Open the Service Infractions module to the Cases tab.

About this task

Infractions are viewed on a case-by-case basis.
You can tell if the infraction has been investigated and confirmed, investigated and forgiven, or if it is still in an undecided state based on the color of status code and the line at the left of the pane:
  • Red = confirmed
  • Green = forgiven
  • Yellow = undecided
Only the currently assigned user can confirm or forgive case infractions.

Procedure

  1. In the policy tree, click the policy name, the policy stage, and then the policy phase that contains the infractions to be confirmed or forgiven.
  2. Select the case card that contains the infraction to be investigated.
  3. In the Infractions widget, select the infraction to be confirmed or forgiven.
Undecided infractions are marked with a yellow bar.

ShortFare infractions include information about the amount the driver was supposed to collect (To collect), the amount the driver did collect (Collected), and the difference between the two (Shortage). If multiple infractions have occurred, the total Confirmed Fare Shortage (the total fare shortage for all confirmed infractions) is found in the Infractions title bar.
If the ShortFare policy is purse-based (the EnablePrepaidFaringDeductions context property is used), additional faring information is available in the Infractions widget.

    Confirmed Fare Shortage
Total fare shortage for all confirmed infractions.
    Overdraft Limit
Client overdraft limit (as shown in the Trapeze4 Workstation, under Task > Clients, on the Detail tab, in the Fare frame, in the Overdraft Limit field).

If the client overdraft is $0.00, the amount defined in the DefaultOverdraftLimit context property is used for calculations in Service Infractions. This amount is not shown in the Overdraft Limit field in the Infractions widget.

    Current Account Balance
    Current EZ-Wallet purse balance.
    Account Balance
EZ-Wallet purse balance after the trip was performed.
    Fare Deducted
Amount deducted from the EZ-Wallet purse for the trip.
    Shortage
Difference between the funds applied to the FareAmount (for example, the client's purse balance, FareCollected amount, and overdraft limit [client overdraft limit or amount defined in the DefaultOverDraftLimit context property]) and the FareAmount.
  4. Use available information to help you decide whether to confirm or forgive the infraction:
    1. To see location-associated weather information, click the Show Weather Information button:
Cloud with a sun peeking out behind it.
    2. To see tracker action information associated with the Trip ID (that is, the Booking ID), click the Show Tracker Information button:
Rectangular box with a piece of paper emerging from it.
    3. To see trip information displayed on a map, click the Show Avl Map button:
Map with a location pointer above it.
This option is only available if location information is available. Specifically, if values of less than 0 are available in the Geostatus field in the BookingLegs table.
  5. After determining whether the infraction should be confirmed or forgiven, do one of the following:
    ToDo this
    Confirm the infraction Click Confirm:
Piece of paper with a check mark above the word Confirm.
    Forgive the infraction Click Forgive:
Piece of paper with an equals sign above the word Forgive.

Results
