Confirming or Forgiving ShortFare Infractions
ShortFare infractions are marked as Undecided until they are either Confirmed or Forgiven.
Before you begin
About this task
You can
tell if the infraction has been investigated and confirmed, investigated and
forgiven, or if it is still in an undecided state based on the color of status code
and the line at the left of the pane:
- Red = confirmed
- Green = forgiven
- Yellow = undecided
Procedure
- In the policy tree, click the policy name, the policy stage, and then the policy phase that contains the infractions to be confirmed or forgiven.
- Select the case card that contains the infraction to be investigated.

In the Infractions widget, select the infraction to be
confirmed or forgiven.
Undecided infractions are marked with a yellow bar.
ShortFare infractions include information about the amount the driver was supposed to collect (To collect), the amount the driver did collect (Collected), and the difference between the two (Shortage). If multiple infractions have occurred, the total Confirmed Fare Shortage (the total fare shortage for all confirmed infractions) is found in the Infractions title bar.If the ShortFare policy is purse-based (the EnablePrepaidFaringDeductions context property is used), additional faring information is available in the Infractions widget.
- Confirmed Fare Shortage
- Total fare shortage for all confirmed infractions.
- Overdraft Limit
- Client overdraft limit (as shown in the Trapeze4 Workstation,
under , on the Detail tab, in the
Fare frame, in the Overdraft
Limit field).
If the client overdraft is $0.00, the amount defined in the DefaultOverdraftLimit context property is used for calculations in Service Infractions. This amount is not shown in the Overdraft Limit field in the Infractions widget.
- Current Account Balance
- Current EZ-Wallet purse balance.
- Account Balance
- EZ-Wallet purse balance after the trip was performed.
- Fare Deducted
- Amount deducted from the EZ-Wallet purse for the trip.
- Shortage
- Difference between the funds applied to the FareAmount (for example, the client's purse balance, FareCollected amount, and overdraft limit [client overdraft limit or amount defined in the DefaultOverDraftLimit context property]) and the FareAmount.
