Extra Pay Types

Extra Pay Types ancillary data defines types of extra pay, such as pay for completing reports or late pull-ins.

You can associate each extra pay type with an Extra Pay Reasons ancillary group.

Note: New extra pay types aren't automatically considered in Timekeeping. To arrange timekeeping configuration services, contact your Trapeze representative.
You can view and enter labor cost allocations for extra pay types using the Cost Allocation button: Cost Allocation

To use this option, the OPS > Costing Allocation > Calculate property must be selected.

Field Description
Abbreviation Abbreviation for the extra pay type.
Attributes Shows icons representing attributes of the extra pay type, if any.

If labor cost allocations are defined, a labor cost allocation icon appears in the Attributes column.

Audit Shows who modified the record and when the record was modified.
Count As Platform Time If selected, the extra pay type time counts as platform time.
Count As Work Time If selected, the extra pay type time counts as work time.
Default Job Class Default job class to be used for the extra pay type.
Description Description of the extra pay type.
Division Group Division group for which the extra pay type is valid.
Edit in Employee Self-Service If selected, the extra pay type can be used in requests made from Employee Self-Service Employee Information.
Employee Type Group Employee Types ancillary group associated with the extra pay type.
Extra Pay Reason Group Extra Pay Reasons ancillary group associated with the extra pay type.
Extra Pay Type Integer that uniquely identifies the extra pay type.
Max Time Maximum amount of time allowed for the extra pay type.
Min Time Minimum amount of time needed for the extra pay type.
Overtime If selected, the extra pay type time counts as overtime.
Pay Code Pay code for the extra pay type.
Reduce Guarantee If selected, the extra pay type time reduces the guaranteed work time total.
Require Approval Select to indicate that the extra pay type requires approval.
When assigning an extra pay record that has its extra pay type as Require Approval, the following options are available in the Approval Status dropdown list:
  • Pending
  • Not Applicable
  • Denied
  • Approved
Secured If selected, only users with the correct permissions can edit this extra pay type in the Daily Activity screen or Timekeeping screens.
Time Edits Specifies time restrictions for extra pay of this type:
  • Before SignOnTime. The extra pay From Time and To Time must be earlier than or the same as the work SignOnTime.
  • After SignOffTime. The extra pay From Time and To Time must be the same as or later than the work SignOffTime.
  • Before SignOnTime or After SignOffTime. The extra pay From Time and To Time must be earlier than or the same as the work SignOnTime, or the same as or later than the work SignOffTime.
  • WithinPieceTime. The extra pay From Time must be the same as or later than the work SignOnTime, and the extra pay To Time must be the same as or earlier than the work SignOffTime.
  • None. There are no restrictions on extra pay From Time and To Time.
Work Status Group Working Status ancillary group associated with the extra pay type. If none is selected, all work types are included.
