Bid Absence Matrix

Bid Absence Matrix ancillary data allows system administrators to define minimums and maximums for the number of daily and weekly absences employees can take.

Accrual types, absence quota types, and ancillary groups for divisions, employee types, and job classes must be defined before updating Bid Absence Matrix ancillary data.

Properties associated with this screen:
  • OPS > Bidding > Absence > Absence Matrix Continuous Days Count Break Off. Specifies how the system counts continuous days to use against accrual restrictions.
    • None. A day off doesn't break continuity and will span multiple weeks.
    • Day Off. A day off will break continuity.
    • Operational Week. The continuity is restricted in an operational week.
  • OPS > Bidding > BiddingRequests > Absence > Only Grant One Request Group. If selected, when processing bidding requests for absences, only grant the requests of the first valid bidding group.
Records are defined based on Accrual Type, Division Type, Employee Type Group, and Job Class Group. Entries are banded and Min Days and Max Days values can't overlap.

For minimums and maximums, defining a value of N/A means that the field value isn't applicable and no validation is performed.

Restrictions on the total number of employees that can be absent at any one time are set using the Absence Quota Config screen. Typically, these restrictions are defined before Bid Absence Matrix ancillary data is defined.
